Album II ~ 1913-1918

These photographs are in no strict order, but generally chronicle my "adult" life. 1913 was the year I turned sixteen, and started wearing my hair up. During these years, I contracted typhoid and had my hair chopped off (1913), served as a Red Cross nurse during WWI, contracted measles and had my head shaved (1917), and was held captive - along with my family - at Tsarskoe Selo, Tobolsk, and Ekaterinburg.

Editor's Notes:

Wigs - We know that Tatiana wears a wig in at least some of the 1913 Tercentenary formal shots, most notably the group shot with her mother and sisters. She contracted typhoid from contaminated St. Petersburg water in March, during the Tercentenary festivities.

26 Mar, 1913, Tatiana's diary: "...I have been isolated from my sisters..."
